NGV Winter is an excellent example of Angus O’Callaghan’s interest in exploring colour and reflection whilst celebrating an iconic Melbourne building. He recounts how he waited patiently for hours waiting for the perfect moment to capture the movement of gallery-goers along the concourse into the wet winter’s day. The gold Rolls Royce belonged to an entitled Gallery Board member who would frequently arrive late to meetings and park against the entrance, to the chagrin of her colleagues. A bygone era when there were parking was relatively unregulated.
